Juan Carlos ("JC") Wallace

JC co-founded Oryx Partners (www.oryxsf.com), a San Francisco based real estate investment and development firm in 2014 and is involved with all major strategic and project decisions and direction for the firm. Since 2014 Oryx has successfully acquired and profitably completed multiple deals such as 1001 Van Ness, 950 Tennessee, 230 7th Street, 201 Roanoke and the built-to-suit public-private partnership delivery of the Central Shops project with the City & County of San Francisco. Starting with 1001 Van Ness in 2017, Oryx has established partnerships and pursed projects and investments in the seniors housing and assisted living space with established operators.

JC is also a co-founder of Alamo Health Management, LLC (www.alamohm.com), a Bay Area-based company which believes in putting people first by delivering innovative therapeutic and behavioral health services in a comprehensive transitional residential care setting. Alamo Health Management, LLC serves clients from multiple counties currently with two facilities in the Bay Area and is expanding to provide services in new locations throughout California.

Prior to founding Oryx Partners in 2014, JC was Vice President of Acquisitions with SKS Partners, a leading San Francisco Bay Area developer, where his primary responsibilities included sourcing, structuring, and closing new real estate opportunities with a focus on office, life science, medical office and mixed-use properties. JC started his real estate career in 2003 as a relationship manager with Wells Fargo’s Real Estate Group, where he was responsible for origination, underwriting, due diligence and asset management for a portfolio of construction and short-term real estate loans.

JC serves on the Board of Openhouse, a non-profit organization providing services, community, and affordable housing for low-income LGBTQ seniors in San Francisco. Prior to joining the Openhouse board, JC served on the Board of City Youth Now, an organization focused on serving the needs of children and youth in the foster care and juvenile justice system in San Francisco, and previously served as President of the Board of the Downtown Oakland Association from 2008-2013.

JC holds a BA degree in Economics from U.C. Berkeley, and an MBA degree with a Real Estate Certificate from U.C. Berkeley’s Haas School of Business. Born and raised in Mexico City, JC has lived in San Francisco since 1995. A father of twin adult sons, JC is an avid outdoor and nature enthusiast.

John Ramsbacher

John is a founding principal of Oryx Partners. He is a successful real-estate investor and developer in San Francisco and other areas. His experience includes sourcing, entitling, and investing in numerous development projects, including the acquisition of property with long-term redevelopment potential.

John is a nationally recognized attorney who started his legal career in 1990. During his legal career, he has advised high net worth families in the areas of real estate, tax and estate matters. John is an ACTEC Fellow and is included in Best Lawyers of America, Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers, and Super Lawyers. He is also a director of Republic Bank, Inc., a Utah chartered bank, which he co-founded in 1999. The bank is one of the top performing banks in the country among its peer group.

John has lived in the South Beach neighborhood of San Francisco since 1997. John is involved in philanthropy personally and on behalf of his clients, including causes that benefit the Tenderloin community and MMG Foundation, which has brought critical thinking programs to San Francisco public schools.

Ruwan Punchihewa

Ruwan is the Chief Financial Officer at Oryx focusing on investment analysis, finance and operations. Prior to joining Oryx, Ruwan was Director of Investments at JP DiNapoli Companies Inc. San Jose, CA. Ruwan commenced his career in accounting with Deloitte & Touche, London, England and in real estate as controller at Essex Property Corporation, Palo Alto, CA which at the time owned and managed 6,000 apartment units.

Ruwan has both an accounting and a legal background and over 25 years experience in commercial real estate investment analysis, capitalization, financing, deal structures and transactions. Ruwan’s expertise include negotiating, documenting and executing all aspects of real estate transactions including purchases, sales, leases, joint ventures, construction financing and permanent financing as well as comprehensive investment analysis.

Ruwan has, for many years, served on the Board and various Board Committees of Notre Dame High School, San Jose, CA. He has a BS in Economics with Honors from the London School of Economics, London, England. He is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (equivalent of a CPA) and a Barrister at Law (equivalent of an Attorney-at-Law).

Tim Rooney

Tim is a strategic partner with Oryx, focused on select development ventures. Tim leverages 10 years of end-to-end multifamily and mixed-use development experience.

Previously, Tim was a Development Director at Toll Brothers Apartment Living, where he spearheaded acquisition and development efforts in Northern California. He was a Project Manager at Emerald Fund from 2011-2017 where he built over 1,300 units ground-up in San Francisco, with total project costs in excess of $700MM. Tim brings expertise in site identification, underwriting and acquisition, entitlement, debt and equity financing, project execution, operations, and recapitalization or disposition efforts.

Tim graduated with a BA in Economics from UCSB in 2006 and is a member of SPUR and ULI.

Sindy Crisostomo

Sindy is an Assistant Project Manager at Oryx Partners. Her responsibilities include supporting in the execution of Oryx’s development and value added projects. In addition, Sindy supports Oryx professionals on due diligence, market research and strategy, and organizational and administrative tasks related to the pursuit of new Oryx projects or opportunities. After graduating from UCLA in 2013 with a BA in International Relations, Sindy moved back to San Francisco and began her Real Estate career in commercial Property and Project Management working for CBRE and Cushman & Wakefield.

Oryx team members are all Bay Area residents with long-standing backgrounds in real estate investing, acquisitions, development, operations, and finance, and with an active interest and stake in the community they live in.
