Oryx and its team were selected by the City of San Francisco in March 2016 to develop a $60 million, two-building, 105,000 GSF specialized light-industrial facility for the relocation of its Central Shops facility. Oryx managed the expedited design, pricing and construction schedule with successful final completion on schedule and on budget in June 2018 for 450 Toland and September 2018 for 555 Selby. Oryx and the City entered into a novel two-phase structure where Oryx first advanced the design of the building and was then “at risk” for successful completion of construction on schedule and on budget.
On Tuesday, September 25th, 2018, Central Shops Replacement Facilities project team won the SF Partnering Gold Award for Category 3, Public Infrastructure Construction Buildings over $30M. Central Shops also won Best in Class for All Buildings.
